Description of the examination process

The certification process is based on ECBSES bylaws and guidelines and is in compliance with international standards. Following 3 steps, Application, Examination and Certification, as shown in the figure

Application
Eligibility requirement of applicants are met (experienced or inexperienced qualifications)

Examinination
Participate in a comptency based exam (Practical and written) at the ECSES examination centers.

Certification
Successful candidates that meet the pass mark are awarded ECSES credentails
Depending on the level of certification, the examination could be written, practical, or written and practical. An applicant can only be certified after passing the written and practical examination if applicable, here in referred to as default examination. The default examination shall be designed to assess the competence of the candidates. A special examination may be administered in future to experienced and competent persons that are not highly educated in the form of oral and practical examination based on the JTA once the structures for assessing them are put in place.
(a) Practical Examination:
The practical examination shall be based on the JTA, if applicable. The applicant will be required to demonstrate skills in installing both the mechanical and electrical components of a sustainable energy systems according to the related JTA.
(b) Written Examination:
The written examination shall also be based on the JTA, recommended to form the basis of the all the curriculum developed by the selected examination institutions across the region. ECREEE is also developing an online platform that will allow candidates to take the written exams online.
