ECBSES Organizational Structure
ECBSES Membership consists of:
(i) Board Members, (ii) Staff Members, (iii) National Certification Focal Institution, (iv) Technical Committee Members (v) Consultative Framework Members, (vi) Sponsor Members and (vii) Associate Members.
- Board Members and Staff Members represent the core Membership.
- Any member may resign by filing a written resignation to the Chair. A member can have their membership terminated when the code of conduct of the scheme is violated by the member.
- ECBSES grants certification without regard to an Applicant’s membership or non-membership, association, or other groups. ECBSES does not discriminate against any individual based on religion, gender, ethnic background, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or other reason prohibited by law.
- National Certification Focal Institution, Technical Committee Members, Consultative Framework Members, Sponsor Members and Associate Members may accumulate membership.
Board Members
- Oversee and monitor the overall performance and management of the ECBSES,
- Provide strategic policy guidance to the ECBSES to achieve its vision and mission
- Approve the annual report and annual financial statements prepared by ECBSES
- Support ECBSES’s mission at the political level in the region and internationally,
- Support in finding the ongoing operationalization and sustainability of the ECBSES,
- Steer ECBSES toward financial sustainable, adoption and recognition by ECOWAS.

Technical Committee
The Technical Committee members support the RCB in undertaking the following activities to help achieve the objectives of the regional certification scheme.
Participate in the review process of relevant documents such as:
- The Guidelines for Regional Certification, the selection criteria for additional training institution, the assessment and examination framework, the certification decision, and maintenance of the certification processes. Consultations with national stakeholders.
- The Job Task Analysis for the higher level of professionals within the solar PV industry and for other RE and EE professionals as needed.
- Inform national stakeholders (potential solar PV technicians, training institutions, government representatives, solar companies) about the details and benefits of the certification program.
- Participate in Sub-Committees comprising a minimum of 3 members to undertake complaint reviews and investigations.
- Participate in examination and JTA sub-committees.
