The National Certification Focal Institutions (NCFI) is the representative of ECBSES from each ECOWAS Member State. 

• The NCFI representative shall be a staff of a Country Certification Scheme Partner or relevant government Ministries, Department and Agencies. 
• These staff, National Certification Focal Point (NCFP), shall support the activities of the ECBSES at national level. 
• The NCFI will support the ECBSES for the Identification and proposition of more examination centres with a good reputation, with the required equipment and competent trainers. 
• Organize at least one (1) examination in his country in a year with the ECBSES secretariat for the award of the certification to successful candidates.
• Member States will nominate their respective NCFI. 
• The NCFIs will choose five (5) Members to represent them in the Regional Technical Committee. They will be chosen based on their competence in the field of certification and/or on their mandate in the field of quality.
• A National level each NCFI must establish and lead a National Committee to be consulted in situations of important decisions within the scope of the regional certification process.
