ECREEE will determine if an applicant is eligible or ineligible to take the regional examination for solar off‐grid PV technicians. ECREEE understands that professionals in the field of renewable energy obtain their training and work experiences in a variety of ways and will select the candidates that best suit the certification category.

1. Be at least 18 years of age; and
2. Have two (2) years of practice as an electrician; or
3. Have two (2) years of working experience as a solar PV Installation technician; or
4. Have completed a course offered by a TI that follows the JTA for technicians of Off‐Grid Solar Photovoltaic Systems; or
5. Have professional certificates or tertiary level diplomas in renewable energy technology or
6. Three (3) or four (4) years Diploma or degree in a field related to electrical, mechanical, structural, or civil engineering, or architecture (Diploma, Baccalaureate or its equivalent, BSc, BEng, MSc, Ph.D.)
